The auditorium of the University of the Basque Country UPV / EHU, Bilbao, designed by the Portuguese architect Alvaro Siza, was inaugurated on February 9, 2011 .
With this new construction Abandoibarra, significantly expands the presence of the University in the heart of Bilbao.
The building is an assignment of the BBK to the Basque public university, which focus in the cultural and academic activity.
Aretoa In Bizkaia, designation of the site, will be offered from now BizBAK (Bizkaia Bilbao Arte eta Kultura), the cultural program of the UPV / EHU for Bilbao: will be held seminars, conferences and meetings of various university bodies and will headquarters of the Department of Scientific Culture "Euskal Institutua", and the Office of Cultural Management.
